Been on a documentary rage the last couple of days! This one was really cool. Edited in a very glitchy way that really gave you a feel for how the band was dealing with the touring/record promotion process. A very different side of the touring story than you usually get- there were no direct interviews with the band, only tapings and recordings of the band performing and getting interviewed for various magazines and radio stations. A lot of cool demo takes/soundchecks/live performances of songs. Early versions of Nude and Life in a Glasshouse, as well as a version of unreleased song Big Boots, stand out as highlights in this category. I’d recommend this to any moderate-big fan of Radiohead, but others probably wouldn’t enjoy it so much.
’s The Funeral over Radiohead’s OK Computer as top album of the last 15 years in the pitchfork reader’s poll. Probably since The Suburbs is about a suburb of Houston, but still a little surprising
Here are my top ten favorites from last year (because that’s all anyone looks at anyway). In terms of score, 1-5 are much higher than 6-10. Here’s to a great 2012
1. Bon Iver – Bon Iver
M83 – Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming
Bomb the Music Industry – Vacation
Girls – Father, Son, Holy Ghost
James Blake – James Blake
Radiohead – The King of Limbs
The Rosebuds – Low Planes Fly Low
Beirut – The Rip Tide
Starfucker - Reptilians
10. The Black Keys – El Camino
